this whale is one of the most special things i have. it was my grandfathers. it sat on his dresser and he would keep his wedding ring in the mouth of the whale. there is storage in the back as well. i wanted this so bad and had to get the boldness to ask my grandmother for it, my grandpa had passed away some years before i asked for it. i started to cry each time i thought of asking my grandma for it. i hope to have it on my dresser when wren is old enough to not think it's a toy.
this basket is from a trip to Botswana. woman in a villiage were selling these among many other styles of baskets. they were supporting themselves and their rights. the money went directly to them.
i've needed more seating in my living room for when we have company. my grandma was getting rid of these chairs and i jumped at the opportunity to put them in my living room! i love them! although someday i want to reupholster them!!!!!! i remember them from when i was like two at their house! pretty old now. haha
my mom recently gave these to me. my aunt made them for me when i was a little girl.
aren't they adorable!! they sit on my windowsill.
hmm just a pretty pear. part of a basket my mom gave us for our anniversary.
i love the hint of tourqouise in the background from my kitchenaid.
a pot from the Indian Market in Santa Fe, New Mexico- held every august (i think). all the indians come together and show off their best work and of course have stuff for sale. i wish i could remember who made it so i could learn more about it. this woman created the pattern on this pot. pretty special.
an old scale we bought in fernandina beach fl, an antique store. funny that it's made in ohio.
my mom brought me some of my favorite flowers. zinnias. aren't they gorgeous! glad i have a photo of them now since they are now longer around
